The Mountains

We had a great week-long vacation in the mountains of North Carolina. I didn't want to leave. The log cabin we stayed in at Lake Lure was so cute and comfortable. Everyday we either ventured out to nearby towns for homestyle BBQ or we cooked up delicious feasts ourselves. We went skiing (well, I ended up just watching, but a brave few went out and tried it). We visited the fabulous Biltmore Estate and took a tour inside the extravagant house. We enjoyed the beautiful views at Chimney Rock and the quirky artistry of Asheville. And we had a great new year's eve filled with good food, dancing, games, and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.

It really was a great vacation and we are ever so thankful to my parents for making it happen and for all my family members who joined us (15 of us in all!). We miss you all and it was wonderful to spend the last week of 2009 with you. I also miss Miami just a little bit more over the holidays and it was such a blessing to still be with family even if we couldn't be in Miami.

I made an album on facebook so you can check out some of the photos there.
Danibel also made a facbook album here.
Also, Alex made a great little video summarizing all the great fun we had. It's in his mobileme gallery. Check it out here. Do it! ;-) I really love it, warms my heart.

I remember we stayed in a cabin a few summers ago, I think it was in tennessee...but we loved every minute of it and I can't wait to go back some day. It created such great memories for us!

God Bless you guys :)
